The 24 May 2023 ForMare – Polo Nazionale per lo Shipping participated to the Joint Workshop «Future Skills for Sustainable Blue Economy: What Challenges and Opportunities?» organized in the frame of the European Maritime Day in Brest France. The workshop focused on key competences and didactic approaches necessary for the improvement of the know-how and expertise of professionals operating in the blue economy sector, capitalizing the result of large-scale projects focusing on innovative skills (green, innovative, digital skills).
It is worth to mention that the workshop has been selected by the European Commission as an associated event of the European Vocational Skills Week 2023 and of the European Year of Skills.
In this context, the Managing Director of ForMare, Lidia Rossi, presented the Erasmus+ Project SkillSea – Future Proof Skills for the Maritime Sector and the Erasmus+ Project MarMED – Maritime Cluster Management Education and Development.
The SkillSea Project aims at fostering the cooperation at European level between the maritime industry, education and training providers and Authorities in order to develop a Skills’ Sustainable Strategy for maritime professionals that is future proof, adaptable and attractive.
The MarMED project aims at bridging the gap between the existing needs and the current skillset of Maritime Cluster Managers ensuring the re-skilling and up-skilling for an innovative professional profile towards an increased competitiveness of the Maritime Cluster in the Mediterranean Area and, overall, the boosting of innovation and sustainable growth in the Blue Economy sector.
Indeed, the joint workshop has represented a great opportunity to facilitate the dialogue between key stakeholders of the Blue Economy Sector.
